Modules

1. FOCUS ON THE SOCIAL IMPACT

What is social impact, how to distinguish its levels and which of them is relevant for your organization? How can you work and co-operate to expand your social impact? What is systemic change and in which system are you operating? During our first meeting, you will get acquainted with a tool called the impact chain, which will help you to define social problems you are trying to tackle and it will guide you towards a logical and strategic way of thinking about the impact of your activities and the concrete steps you need to take to achieve it. In the first session, we will also be working with your unique motivation to assess impact.

1. FOCUS ON THE SOCIAL IMPACT

2. THE IMPACT CHAIN AND STRATEGIC PLANNING

By the end of this module you will have fine-tuned your impact chain to perfection and you will be then able to concretely define social problems addressed by your organization and better define their solutions. You will also have characterised the role of your individual stakeholders. All of this will enable you to take a fresh look at the activities that you already do in your organization.

Furthermore, you will learn to perceive your strategic and action plans through the optics of the impact chain. You will then consider possibilities of proving positive impact of your planned activities (using success indicators). You will also learn how to prepare yourselves for potential changes in your organization that may result from the repeated immersion into impact assessment, and which adventures and advantages they may bring.

2. THE IMPACT CHAIN AND STRATEGIC PLANNING

3. METHODS OF DATA COLLECTION

In order to put your map of indicators to work, you will need data. Indicators are useful when they are real and correspond to the needs of both your target groups and your organization. This is why you will look at the data that you already have and which can be used to measure impact. But don’t worry, you can also work with verified publicly-available data – we will show you where and how to find them. Furthermore, you will discover different methods of data collection and concrete examples of their use, so that you can choose the ones most relevant for you. Additionally, you will learn whom, how and when you need to involve in the data collection process, both within and outside your organization.

3. METHODS OF DATA COLLECTION

4. DATA PROCESSING

While it is important to obtain the relevant data, it is crucial to be able to understand and interpret them. You will get to know useful tools for easier data collection, deposition and interpretation. You will gain awareness of data processing systems relevant for you and, with the assistance of our experts, learn to work with them. We will also introduce you to the world of data analysis, trend spotting and links between different data.

4. DATA PROCESSING

5. CHANGE MANAGEMENT

Having learnt how to handle the data so that they serve you and help you show the right direction of your work, you will now be able to finish the map of impact assessment processes in your organization. You will focus on interlocking them with the existing organizational and team processes. You will also discover how to implement the results of impact assessment into the management of your organization.

5. CHANGE MANAGEMENT

6. COMMUNICATION OF THE SOCIAL IMPACT

As soon as impact assessment becomes daily bread in your organization, you will feel the urge to let everyone know how you are progressing –  that is not only your colleagues, but also partners, donors, clients and the general public. But how do you show the difference made by your work? In this session, you will find out that you can inform others about your impact using the Social Reporting Standard, including practical tips on how to work with it and how to potentially use it as a basis of your annual report. Together with our storytelling experts, you will then try to talk about your work and its impact in a way that impresses and attracts nearly everybody. You will also start preparing a short pitch for donors and investors.

6. COMMUNICATION OF THE SOCIAL IMPACT

7. MEETING WITH INVESTORS AND DONORS

You are already prepared for making a pitch to donors and investors. In this module, you will first be able to try out your presentation one more time, and then it will be your turn to try to captivate the donors and investors and win them over for your work and your vision. Finally, you will have a unique opportunity to meet with them individually and gain valuable feedback on your presentation style. You will also find out about the evolving trend of impact investment.

7. MEETING WITH INVESTORS AND DONORS

8. THE IMPACT ACADEMY GRAND FINALE

There is no need to compete in the Impact Academy. Everyone who follows through the process and stays open to change is a winner. What have you gained and lost by participating in the Impact Academy? How has the attitude towards impact assessment changed in your team and organization? How are you managing to work with the results in both day-to-day and strategic management of your organization? What are your future plans? Answers to these questions will be interesting not only for the experts and mentors that have supported you throughout your journey, but also for  potential donors and investors and other representatives of civic societies, who too want to get examples and gain inspiration for their own beginnings in the field of social impact practice.
